Fiorentina on Thursday evening in Europa League Group I action.

Fiorentina currently sit at the bottom of Group I with three games remaining. A pivotal match in Poland against Lech Poznan awaits them as they will look to move off the bottom of the table in a wide open group that sees only three points separate top from bottom.

Fiorentina’s Serie A form has been excellent as they currently sit atop the league on 24 points. Their European form although has been lacklustre, with the exception of a 4-0 blowout out of Portuguese side Belenenses.

La Viola began their Europa League match play with a disappointing home loss to Swiss side Basel, 2-1 with Croatian Nikola Kalinic netting the lone goal for the Tuscans. Following up their home defeat was their road shelling of Belenenses. Giuseppe Rossi found the score sheet for the first time since May of 2014 in the contest. Adding goals for Fiorentina were Federico Bernadeschi, Khouma Babacar and an own goal from Belenenses defender Tonel. Paolo Sousa’s side then fell to yet another home defeat, this time falling 2-1 at home to Lech Poznan, but the Viola will be looking for revenge in the second game of their crunch double-header on Thursday.

On the contrary the Polish side has held an excellent run of form between league and Europa League games. The Polish side currently sit in second in the Europa League group with four points. They drew against Belenenses and their lone victory from La Viola. Their lone loss came to group leaders Basel.

Lech Poznan hold the advantage in head to head meetings with the only meeting being the 2-1 victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, pushing Fiorentina to three straight European losses at home.

Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa will be without the services of Ante Rebic whose red card in the first leg between the sides will keep him sidelined. The only injury for Sousa is 22 year-old central midfielder Marko Bakic.

Lech Poznan coach Jan Urban who took the reigns for the Polish just under a month ago will be without forwards Kownacki and Marcin Robak who are both set to miss the clash due to injuries.
