Gianluigi Buffon – 6.5 – Cool
Had to make a smart intervention to stop Aguero scoring following a bad back-pass and made an excellent low save following a City corner. Both were crucial in Juve keeping a clean sheet.
Andrea Barzagli – 6.5 – Capable
Coped well with the threat of De Bruyne and exhibited the understanding that has become characteristic of his partnership with Bonucci and Chiellini.
Leonardo Bonucci – 6.5 – Calm
Made several challenges and interventions and was a calming influence at the back but his distribution out of defence was not as accurate as usual.
Giorgio Chiellini – 6.5 – Committed
The usual committed performance from the veteran defender who also looked threatening on occasion when charging out of defence with the ball.
Stephan Lichtsteiner – 6 – Quiet
Almost scored in the first half following a good exchange with Mandzukic and although he patrolled the right-flank as usual, his involvement in the game was fleeting.
Alex Sandro – 7 – Aggressive
Tenacious in defence and daring going forward, a strong wing-back performance from the Brazilian. Provided the assist for Mandzukic’s opener with a great cross. Substituted after 78 minutes.
Stefano Sturaro – 6- Unseen
Didn’t get on the ball as much as his two fellow midfielders and as a result went unnoticed for much of the game despite some honest pressing of the opposition.
Claudio Marchisio – 6.5- Dictator
Assured performance from the experienced campaigner that was key to his side controlling the midfield area. One mistake did almost gift City a goal however after a poor back-pass.
Paul Pogba – 7- Composer
Displayed all his usual skill on the ball and made the most of the space he was afforded by City’s midfield to orchestrate Juve’s attacks.
Mario Mandzukic – 7- Goal
Good finish from Alex Sandro’s cross for the opening goal and had the better of Otamendi physically. Substituted in the second half for Morata.
Paulo Dybala – 6.5- Buzz
Had a couple of nice dribbles and was full of running but struggled to produce an end product to threaten Joe Hart’s goal. Substituted after 82 minutes.
Alvaro Morata (55 minutes) – 6
Had two strong runs into the City penalty area but missed both the resulting one-on-one’s with Hart.
Patrice Evra (78 minutes) – N/A
Had little involvement after replacing the impressive Alex Sandro at left wing-back.
Juan Cuadrado (82 minutes) – N/A
Had a shot blocked shortly after coming on but had little influence following that.
