The 41-year-old coach has overseen back-to-back defeats since taking over from Walter Zenga two weeks ago and called on the Blucerchiati player’s to take responsibility for the defeat after the 4-1 loss in Milan.

Montella, who left Fiorentina at the end of last season, joined the Serie A club on a two and a half year contract after Ferrero moved swiftly to sack Zenga following a 2-0 defeat to the Gigliati.
