Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has welcomed reports that Juan Zuniga could leave Napoli to sign for his club in January.
The Colombian full-back was inches away from securing a move to the Blucerchiati on deadline day this past summer in a deal where Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano would have moved in the opposite direction. The move fell through as the paperwork didn’t arrive on time.
“The contract of Zuniga was ready, but Soriano’s paperwork wasn’t completed in time,” Ferrero revealed to Tuttonapoli.net.
“I was very interested in Zuniga because he’s a great player,” the Italian continued.
Ferrero went on to reveal that he would like to try again in January, this time without involving Soriano.
“In January, I would take Zuniga immediately!”
