Sampdoria are finding negotiations to sign Vincenzo Montella as their next coach tough, as Fiorentina will not budge on their asking price.
La Samp fired their previous coach Walter Zenga on Tuesday and identified their former player Montella as the ideal replacement, however, the former Viola coach is still under contract with the Florence-based side.
According to Sky Sport Italia, on Wednesday the two clubs and Montella had a meeting in Rome to try and sort out issues and come to some form of agreement.
Although the Blucerchiati were able to find an agreement with their former player, no deal was struck with the Gigliati, who refuse to budge from their €3 million release clause on Montella’s contract.
The clubs are expected to meet again soon to try and hash out a deal.
