Sarri NapoliNapoli coach Maurizio Sarri gave praise to Omar El Kaddouri in what was a mentally tough match following their 1-0 win over Club Brugge.

Vlad Chiriches’ sweeping volley was enough to separate the two sides and secure top spot for the Partenopei in what was a poor match to witness.

“It was a tough match in a mental aspect,” Sarri told Sky Sports.

“This was because we had already qualified so some players may have taken the occasion lightly,” he added.

“The guys were good though.

“From my point of view it was a good step forward.”

The game also saw an interchange of positions between Omar El Kaddouri and Marek Hamsik, as well as the former playing off the shoulder of the Slovakian.

“It worked well I thought.

“The pace of the game picked up when El Kaddouri [Omar] was on the ball, but sometimes he holds onto it too much.

“When a midfielder does that it’s not a good thing.

“He’s growing a lot however.”

Napoli face Inter on Monday in what proves to be a massive match in the race for the Scudetto.

“There are still 25 games left in Serie A.”

“Lots more hinge in those other matches, as opposed to this solitary fixture.

“I’ve focused very little on Inter, but I’ll take a closer look tomorrow.

“To be perfectly honest I’m just hungry and I would like to go to dinner!”
