Ilicic Samdporia FiorentinaSampdoria coach Walter Zenga stated his side deserved to lose 2-0 to Fiorentina and was angry with the two goals his side gave away.

The Viola came away with the three points from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris thanks to an early Josip Ilicic penalty and a second half strike from Nikola Kalinic.

“Fiorentina played well and deserved to win, but we gave away two easy goals,” Zenga told Sky Sport Italia after the Fiorentina game.

“It’s already difficult to play against them anyway, let alone when you do that.

“We could’ve made up for it in the final 10 minutes if Eder had scored on that chance, but football is a strange sport and we have to be more clinical.”

The Blucerchiati boss was unhappy that Viola midfielder Matias Vecino wasn’t shown a second yellow card after he handled the ball in the first half.

“That incident didn’t go our way, it should have being a second yellow for Vecino,” Zenga added.

Samp now face Udinese away when Serie A resumes after the international break in two weeks.
