AC Milan drew for the second consecutive game against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The home side wasted a multitude of chances in the first half but finally took the lead early in the second half through Carlos Bacca. However they could not hold on and the away side were awarded a penalty as well as numerical advantage due to a red card for Nigel de Jong.

It was the away side who despite not having won a game all season long started the brighter with the side showing attacking intent and forcing a series of corners.

Milan came into the game as the first half progressed and Giacomo Bonaventura was instrumental in pulling the strings for the Rossoneri creating several chances for Mbaye Niang and Carlos Bacca as well as missing a good chance himself.

The home side had a goal harshly disallowed by the referee as Carlos Bacca’s position was judged to be offside.

The second half started with both sides having opportunities to take the lead. First Artur Ionita headed just wide and then Pierluigi Gollini saved Bonaventura’s aerial effort.

Milan took the lead on 52 minutes when a deft touch from Luiz Adriano slipped in Carlos Bacca who could not miss in front of Gollini.

However just four minutes later the game turned on its head. Nigel De Jong was sent off for a foul on Leonardo Greco in the penalty area and Luca Toni dispatched the subsequent spot kick for only his second goal of the season.

Following this the match started to heat up with referee Paolo Valeri handing out a flurry of yellow cards.

Substitute Andrea Bertolucci and Bonaventura had two final chances to win the game in the last ten minutes but it was to no avail.

Milan move up to seventh in the table, whilst Verona remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
