AC Milan are reportedly trying to part ways with Nigel De Jong by offering his services to other clubs in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 31-year-old midfielder has largely been a peripheral figure at the Milanese giants this season with Rossoneri boss Sinisa Mihajlovic regularly excluding him from his plans.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are prepared to accept a relatively low fee from any party that is prepared to take the Dutchman off their hands but fear his wages might prove a stumbling block for prospective suitors.
The midfield enforcer has a contract with the Italian giants that expires in 2018 and is on a salary of €3 million per season, making his departure economical for the club.
De Jong has made 79 appearances for Milan since arriving from Manchester City in 2012.
