held to a 0-0 draw away to Carpi.

Giacomo Bonaventura and Alex had the best chances of a tight game, and the Serbian tactician has acknowledged that his team should have been more accurate with their shooting on Sunday night.

“We dropped two points today,” Mihajlovic told Mediaset Premium. “The first half could have been better, but the second half we did well.”

“We created chances and deserved to win. They [Carpi] played out a good game but we just needed a bit of luck and a more clinical nature in front of goal.

“We tried everything to score but we just could not accomplish that. Now we just have to move on and prepare well for the next game.”

Milan had recently thumped Sampdoria 4-1, and the 46-year-old has recognised the contrasting differences between the two matches.

“It was a different game,” he concluded. “We did well to create chances and score them in the former, but tonight we were unable to do so.

“Therefore my judgement of the match differs.

“At least the guys tried up until the final whistle.”
