Mexes - AC MilanAC Milan have reportedly offered Philippe Mexes to French club Marseille in a bid to offload the unwanted central defender.

The Frenchman has recently slipped down the pecking order at the Rossoneri , with coach Sinisa Mihajlovic opting for the defensive pairing of Alex and Alessio Romagnoli, rather than selecting the former Roma man.

According to France Football, Milan have already made contact with Marseille, offering them the opportunity to sign the 33-year-old at a cut price, especially due to the fact that the player’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current Serie A season.

However, the Diavolo may face a struggle to relinquish the player’s services in January, as it also reported that he has no intentions of leaving Italy.

If this is the case, then Fiorentina make capitalise upon the situation and reignite their interest in the hot-headed Frenchman.

Mexes has made a total of 83 appearances for the Milanese giants while scoring seven goals.
