Atalanta’s Marten de Roon has reportedly rejected the chance to join AC Milan.
The 24-year-old has produced some eye-catching displays since moving from Dutch side SC Heerenveen over the summer although he insists he is not interested in a move away as he wants to stay with La Dea.
“Milan? I’m not moving from here,” de Roon said to L’Eco di Bergamo.
“In Bergamo they have adopted me and I adore the Casoncelli and the Polenta.”
The Dutchman was also quick to play down the comparisons between him and the Swedish former Atalanta player Glenn Stromberg although he remains flattered by such a thought.
“The comparisons with Stromberg honours me, but maybe we will talk about this subject again in seven years time,” de Roon went on.
The former Netherlands Under-19 international has made 14 starts and scored one goal as Atalanta sit seventh after their opening 15 fixtures.
