Atalanta star seals Leon move

Maxi Moralez Atalanta 3 Cesena 2Maxi Moralez has officially left Serie A side Atalanta in favour of a move to Mexican outfit Club Leon.

Having only recently credited his wife for persuading him to stay with the Bergamo club in the summer, the man affectionately known as Frasquito, has now departed from La Dea.

Leon revealed the transfer on their official Twitter account on Wednesday evening, welcoming Moralez to the club.

No transfer fee has been disclosed though the player was contracted to remain at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia until June 2017.

Moralez played a key role in guiding Atalanta to their current position of ninth place in the Serie A table, featuring in each of the Orobici’s 17 matches to date.

The Argentine spent four years in Bergamo since joining from Velez Sarsfield in 2011 for a fee of €5 million, where he went on to play 148 times in Serie A, contributing with 20 goals and a further 27 assists during his time at the club.
