Ex-Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro has called for Paul Pogba to demonstrate a mentality of a champion as he believes that is what separates an average player from a world-class player.

The World Cup winner feels that the Frenchman has yet to fulfil his fullest potential given the Bianconeri’s struggle in the earlier part of the season, claiming that great players are those that maintain a long period of consistency and are able to handle pressure.

“I think Pogba has yet to prove himself to be a great player,” the 42-year-old told Cadena Ser.

“Great players are those that play 10-15 years at the same level; he (Pogba) has yet to prove to be a great player.

“Pogba has all the possibilities to do it, but in football you have to know how to cope with pressure, that’s what makes the difference between a normal player and a great player.”
