Genoa CFC v Carpi FC - Serie AAC Milan will be hoping to continue their fine form when they travel to newly promoted Carpi.

The home side will be looking to make it bounce back to back wins in Serie A for the first time this season after winning last weekend. The 2-1 win at Genoa was only Fabrizio Castori side’s second win of the campaign and it was not enough to lift them out of the relegation zone with the side from Emilia-Romagna still five points from safety. Carpi did, however, progress to the last 16 of the Coppa Italia after a midweek win against Vicenza.

The Rossoneri have also had a great week. Sinisa Mihajlovic oversaw a 4-1 demolition of his former side Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The game saw forward M’baye Niang score his first double in Serie A and the result leaves Milan in 7th place ahead of this weekend’s fixtures. Milan, like, Carpi also won in midweek in the Coppa Italia, although they did need extra time to get past Crotone.

With this being Carpi’s first season in Serie A, the two teams have not played against each other in Italy’s top flight before.

Carpi will be without injured duo Matteo Fedele and Igor Bubnjic for the game against Milan. Marco Borriello is fully recovered from his injury set back and is set to lead the line for Castori’s men.

Milan, meanwhile, will still be without a host of first team players for their trip to Carpi. Jeremy Menez, Diego Lopez, Mario Balotelli, Andrea Bertolacci and Luca Antonelli are still unavilable due to injury. After scoring his first goals for Milan, Niang is likely to continue to play alongside Carlos Bacca up top for the Rossoneri.
