Genoa CFC v Carpi FC - Serie AEmpoli will be hoping to continue their strong run of form when they host Carpi on Sunday morning at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

The Azzurri currently sit dead in the middle of the Serie A table in the tenth spot while the Biancorossi find themselves second from the bottom in nineteenth place. Eleven points currently separate the two sides. Empoli will be looking to climb up the top half of the table whereas Carpi will merely be hoping that a result can bring them one step closer from freeing themselves from the relegation zone.

Empoli are coming off back-to-back victories against Lazio and last week, a 1-0 victory away to Hellas Verona. In total, Empoli are unbeaten in their last three matches.

Relatively speaking, Carpi are on a decent run of form as well, managing a victory against Genoa a fortnight ago, followed by a respectable goalless draw against Milan last weekend.

These two sides have never met in the top flight but did do battle in Serie B during the 2013/2014 season when Empoli managed a 2-0 victory away, then a 1-1 draw at home.

Neither side can boast particularly good defensive records, Empoli conceding 20 while Carpi have the worst record with 27 let in after 15 rounds.

Neither side are facing any suspensions this weekend. They are, however, forced to reshuffle the squad through injury.

Empoli be forced to make do without Uros Cosic, Levan Mchedlidze and Rade Krunic.

Carpi, meanwhile, will be without both Matteo Fedele and Igor Bubnjic.
