Fiorentina are reportedly considering a move for Napoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori as the January transfer window approaches.
The 29-year-old, whose current contract with the Partenopei is set to expire in June 2019, hasn’t seen much time on the pitch since arriving in Naples from Empoli at the start of the campaign and it looks like he may have an opportunity to change that by joining the Viola this winter.
According to TuttoSport, Fiorentina could make a bid for the Napoli man in the coming weeks as a possible replacement for Mario Suarez, with the former Atletico Madrid man being linked with a move to Liverpool due to his inconsistent start in Florence.
Reports also suggest that the Italy international would be a better fit in Paulo Sousa’s Viola squad than Suarez, giving the Fiorentina executives more reason to chase him.
Valdifiori has provided two assists in his total of eight appearances in all competitions this term thus far, with both assists coming in his four Europa League appearances.
