Gian Piero Gasperini GenoaGenoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini admits that they are making their own problems following defeat to Bologna.

Luca Rossettini scored a late winner to condemn the Grifone to defeat, who also had Diego Perotti sent off in the second half.

“There are no excuses for his expulsion, it really made things difficult for us playing with 10 men,” Gasperini told Premium Sport.

“We are making matters complicated for ourselves, we play well but just can’t score and end up throwing away points late on.”

Bologna’s Amadou Diawara was shown a second yellow card late on, but Genoa couldn’t respond and suffered their eighth loss of the season.

“We conducted the game well but it wasn’t easy against Bologna, who have done very well recently,” Gasperini continued.

“In the second half we were more balanced, but we were too preoccupied with defending to launch our own attacking moves.

“Now we have to think about our situation, which as I mentioned, is very complicated.”

Genoa languish in 16th in the Serie A table with a tough trip to face Roma the following weekend ahead of them.
