Genoa v InterInter host Genoa at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday night, looking to get back to winning ways.

The Nerazzurri are in search of a win to quickly forget the 2-1 loss to Napoli which came after a streak of four consecutive wins. Roberto Mancini’s side have the best defence in Serie A, which has been particularly evident at home with Inter keeping a clean sheet in six of their last seven home matches in Serie A.

Genoa suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Carpi in their last game, after a convincing win against Sassuolo in their previous game. The Grifone need some consistency if they are to climb the table, they have only won four games so far this season and never claimed back to back wins. On the road Genoa have struggled, failing to win in their last eight away matches in Serie A.

Genoa’s last win at the San Siro against Inter was in 1994, and the Nerazzurri have since won seven of the last 10 games at home against the Grifone. Last season saw each side won at home against the other, with Genoa beating Inter 3-2 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in May and the Nerazzurri winning 3-1 at the San Siro in January, thanks to goals by Nemanja Vidic, Rodrigo Palacio and Mauro Icardi.

Roberto Mancini will have all his men available apart from the injured Davide Santon and Vidic. Yuto Nagatomo, who was sent off in the clash at the Stadio San Paolo against Napoli, is suspended for the Genoa game. Geoffrey Kondogbia will face a late fitness test to assess whether he can play against the Rossoblu.

Genoa have several players unavailable, with Giovanni Marchese, Ezequiel Munoz and Blerim Dzemaili all not be able to play due to injuries. Forward Leonardo Pavoletti is punished with a ban after his moment of madness against Carpi which saw him get a red card.
