Torino striker Maxi Lopez has explained the reasoning for his contract renewal, praising both coach Giampiero Ventura and the Granata fans.
The former Sampdoria man has extended his deal with the Turin side to 2018, his first ever contract extension.
“We always want more from me,” Lopez admitted to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“Ventura always tells me to never be satisfied.
“If I didn’t have his faith, I would not have re-signed, so it’s time to return the faith from the club, from the executives and from the coach who gave me the strength to change the minds of those who said I could never be helpful.”
“The relationship I have with the fans is crazy and the environment makes you feel important. This is an ambitious project so I decided to stay.
“Torino are the only club I have renewed with, does that mean something?
“I want to make history in this shirt.”
