Torino forward Maxi Lopez believes a point was a fair result as his side drew 1-1 with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma took the lead eight minutes from time when Torino goalkeeper Daniele Padelli misjudged Miralem Pjanic’s free-kick, but there was to be a late twist. After Kostas Manolas upended Andrea Belotti inside the penalty area, Lopez stepped up to dispatch beyond Wojciech Szczesny to rescue a point for the Granata.
“The draw was the fair result,” the Argentine told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
“We did well to believe in ourselves right up to the end.
“We didn’t give up.
“We picked up an important point.
“This is a well-balanced squad, we all do our bit and we are going in the right direction.”
The pointed lifted Giampiero Ventura’s side up to 8th, a point behind AC Milan, while Roma missed the opportunity to leapfrog Fiorentina in third place.
