Higuain Handanovic Napoli interNapoli coach Maurizio Sarri hailed his side’s victory over Inter on Monday evening and dedicated the win to the club’s supporters.

The Partenopei defeated the Nerazzurri 2-1 to leapfrog their opponents and occupy the top spot in Serie A outright for the first time in 25 years.

“Going top of Serie A is the reward for our great start to the season,” the 56-year-old said in an interview with Premium Sport after the Inter game.

“We are pleased for the fans as they have not had this feeling for 25 years.

“We know that it means little however, we have had two months of great results but we must start again tomorrow as we did during the negative moments.”

Sarri also addressed suggestions by Inter coach Roberto Mancini that Jose Callejon exaggerated the foul by Yuto Nagatomo in order to get the Japanese player booked, his first yellow card before he was later sent off.

“Callejon simulated? That is Mancini’s view, the foul occurred in front of my bench and I think I had a better view than the Inter coach,” Sarri concluded.
