Lazio coach Stefano Pioli has lamented his team’s performance in their 2-0 loss to Juventus.

The Aquile were outclassed by the Bianconeri and Paulo Dybala who controlled the match. The Argentinian forward assisted the first goal before producing a stunning volley to seal the three points.

“It is not enough to start well to win a game.” said Pioli to Premium Sport after the match.

“We conceded a goal at the first opportunity, but then we were too generous and predictable. It’s inevitable that we are losing confidence.

“Now we must have the humility to understand that we can do much more than we are doing right now.

“We have to have more speed, expose them one on one, but we did not succeed. To get a result against a big team is very tough. We just have to focus on the future.

“In the last few games we have been penalised by certain moments that went against us. Today we had to concentrate and stay in the game, instead we conceded early and couldn’t recover.

Finally Pioli said his players need to improve their performances and start playing for the Lazio shirt.

“The players who care about the Biancocelesti jersey, know that this year the expectations were very high and that their performances so far have been well below them.”
