Wojciech Szczesny – 7 – Concentrated

Untroubled for much of the match but the Arsenal loanee made one excellent save in the second half to deny Bate Borisov a goal against the run of play.

Alessandro Florenzi – 6.5 – Wayward

Constantly looking to support the attack but this often left him exposed and out of position, sometimes he recovered well but other times he left Manolas to mop up after him

Kostas Manolas – 7 – Rock

Solid as always as he was often correcting the mistakes made by the likes of Florenzi and Antonio Rudiger roaming from their positions

Antonio Rudiger – 6 – Rash

Relatively untroubled in the first half but in the second half as the game became stretched he was often found wanting positionally.

Lucas Digne – 6.5 – Inconsistent

Like Florenzi the Frenchman was always eager to get forward but often his end product lacked the required quality which in the first half starved Edin Dzeko of decent service.

Daniele De Rossi – 6.5 – Strong

Looked comfortable all night and he was often able to win the ball back for Roma. In the second half he looked slightly exposed when Bate Borisov counter-attacked.

Radja Nainggolan – 7 – Rapid

Constantly looked to support Dzeko and wasn’t afraid to shoot from range. Always energetic the Belgian midfielder worked hard and got stuck in.

Miralem Pjanic – 6.5 – Composed

Missed a decent opportunity in the first half and in the second half, yet his passing was measured and incisive throughout, but he just couldn’t find the killer ball.

Juan Iturbe – 5 – Absent

Worked hard as he always does, but the Argentinian just looks short of any confidence right now, was replaced by Salah in the second half.

Iago Falque – 5.5 – Lacking

The former Genoa was often too eager to shoot in the first half and in the second his performance was similarly disappointing.

Edin Dzeko – 4- Dire

The Bosnian was poor in the first half and he started the second half in a similar fashion missing a one on one chance. Dzeko’s link up play was also lax, not a great night.

Mohamed Salah – 6 – Assured

Was able to set-up a good chance for Pjanic but apart from that and a few wayward efforts he wasn’t able to change the game.

Salih Ucan –No Rating

Came on in the last five minutes.
