Roma coach Rudi Garcia expressed his happiness with the 0-0 draw against Napoli on Sunday, despite the Giallorossi’s winless run extending to four games in Serie A.

Wojciech Szczesny came up big late in the match to stop Napoli from taking the victory, while Daniele De Rossi had his headed goal cancelled due to the assisted cross curling outside the byline – ensuring the game ended 0-0.

“Drawing at the San Paolo is always a good result,” the Frenchman coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“This is an opponent that scores many goals and to have taken a point is a great result.

“The aim was to press hard and to build very well from the back; we know that Juventus, Inter, and Fiorentina have lost here, it’s always difficult at the the San Paolo.”

The coach questioned some of the execution of attack from his side and the need to keep calm in order to recover in the Serie A standings, where they sit in fourth.

“We could’ve done better in some things,” he admitted.

“Napoli are a team that plays well and presses high with its four defenders very tight, with [Mohamed] Salah not 100% it was difficult to try other solutions.

“We’ve missed four points, two against Bologna and two against Torino that we won’t get back; we have to look at the table calmly because we can still recover.”
