Marouane Fellaini Manchester UnitedManchester United’s Marouane Fellaini, Ever Banega of Sevilla and Zenit Saint Petersburg star Axel Witsel are sought by AC Milan as the Serie A side make a midfielder the priority for their January transfer window.

With coach Sinisa Mihajlovic seemingly unpleased with how the likes of Riccardo Montolivo, Juraj Kucka and Nigel De Jong have performed so far, the Rossoneri are still looking for the right man to increase their quality.

According to Sport Italia, the San Siro side will soon step up their pursuit of one among Banega, Fellaini and Witsel, the three internationals deemed to be the right profiles to strengthen the Diavolo’s midfield, with Zenit’s Witsel being at the top of Mihajlovic’s wish list since last summer.

With Luiz Adriano’s lucrative move to China forthcoming, the income could boost Milan’s playmaker research as the Rossoneri are thought to pour their profits back into the market.

The situation could change, however, as tonight’s Coppa Italia home clash against Carpi could prove decisive for coach Mihajlovic’s future following the recent poor form which saw the club falling to eighth in Serie A.
