jose mauriAC Milan have ruled out the possibility of young midfielder Jose Mauri leaving the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in January.

It had appeared as though the Rossoneri were willing to let the Argentine prospect leave the club on loan in the mid-season transfer window, with both Atalanta and Chievo showing an interest in his services. However, Mauri now looks set to remain at the San Siro.

According to Sportitalia, Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is keen to keep the former Parma man, with a view to giving him increased playing time in the second half of the Serie A campaign.

Since moving to the Diavolo, Mauri has played on just two occasions, both of which have come in the Coppa Italia.

The midfielder came to the attention of Italy’s bigger clubs during the 2014-15 season, when he played totalled 33 Serie A appearances for the Crociati.
