TorresCurrent loanee Fernando Torres is no longer wanted by Atletico Madrid, allowing him a potential return to AC Milan this summer.

The Spaniard has just two goals to his name this season, alongside the three he netted in 2014-15, reiterating the downturn in fortunes of the 31-year-old.

Atletico have recently been issued with an impending transfer ban, meaning coach Diego Simone had to either sign the striker this month, or consequently let him go back to the Rossoneri.

Despite what would be a possible return to Italy, Torres instead could be ready to let his contract run down with Milan and become available as a free transfer ahead of the 2016-17 season.

Agent Jose Antonio Martin confirmed last week that there has been a flurry of offers for the former Liverpool man’s services, with both Qatar and China poised with lucrative offers to tempt him.

Torres’ previous time at Milan was also short-lived, playing out 594 minutes on the pitch with a return of a solitary goal. His stats should come as no surprise however, with the forward unable to break the 10 goal mark since 2011, and has scored no more than three times in a season since 2014.
