Genoa Atalanta Atalanta coach Edy Reja has expressed his disappointment with the club’s supporters in the wake of their fourth consecutive Serie A defeat.

His side lost 2-0 at home to Genoa and after the match took a moment to reflect on the performance and current state of the club.

“We were not as sharp today as we have been in the past,” Reja told Rai Sport.

“We did not create many chances today and although the desire to win was there, we gave Genoa too much space and they exploited it.”

Reja appeared angry when asked about the response of the home crowd to the latest disappointing result.

“Fans have a right to jeer but sometimes they can criticize the team more than is warranted,” Reja added.

The 70-year-old took a brief moment to discuss the club’s current transfer strategy.

“The club is working, I hope that something will happen in the transfer market,” Reja noted.

“We have some targets in mind so we will see what happens.”

With today’s loss, Atalanta have slipped down to 11th place in the Serie A table.
