Atalanta have completed the loan signing of Italian international Alessandro Diamanti, as the striker puts an end to a nightmare spell at Premier League side Watford.
Diamanti, who only played three times for the Hornets during a loan spell from Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande, has moved to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia for the remainder of the 2015-16 campaign.
The Bergamo side confirmed the deal on their official club website on Wednesday afternoon, revealing that the 32-year-old would wear the No.23 shirt.
Udinese and Hellas Verona, who were also interested in offering Diamanti a return to Italy, with Serie B side Livorno also being touted as a potential destination.
Diamanti will join up with Edy Reja and his new team-mates for training on Thursday afternoon.
