carpi interInter midfielder Felipe Melo acknowledged his team threw away victory by failing to finish off a 10-man Carpi outfit in Sunday afternoon’s 1-1 draw.

In his first start for 2016, the Brazilian’s return to the starting line-up ended in disappointment when the Nerazzurri conceded a 92nd minute equaliser to Kevin Lasagna and stressed the need for improvement.

“After them getting a man sent off, we couldn’t get the second goal and threw away two points,” he told Mediaset Premium.

“We should have won the game but we didnt so we need to come back with our feet on the ground and work with humility.

“We do not care about what others do, we just have to win.

“We all have to improve, there isn’t anyone who is a [Lionel] Messi, [Diego] Maradona or Pele, we all must improve.”

The result leaves Inter in 4th place, level on points with Fiorentina who are one position above them.
