Diego Perotti GenoaRoma are believed to be closing in on the signing of Genoa winger Diego Perotti, with the deal expected to be completed after this coming weekend.

The Giallorossi currently find themselves in fifth place in Serie A, seven points off league leaders Napoli and are therefore looking to strengthen their side as they prepare to challenge for the sought after Scudetto.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, negotiations between the two clubs were initially held up due to Roma’s recent sacking of Rudi Garcia, however now that the Lupi have cleared the signing of Perotti with expected new coach Luciano Spalletti, negotiations are set to continue.

The deal will likely be that of an initial loan, but the Giallorossi will be obligated to pay Genoa around €10 million and possibly €3 million extra in bonuses, should the Argentine achieve certain targets.

Perotti has made 13 Serie A appearances so far this season, creating one assist and scoring one goal for the Grifone.
