Inter and Nemanja Vidic have officially gone their separate ways after the club agreed to terminate his playing contract.
The mutual settlement brings the curtain down on an 18 month stint at the Nerazzurri for the Serbian, who joined in 2014 from Manchester United.
“FC Internazionale announces that it has reached an agreement of mutual termination of the contract with Nemanja Vidic,” a club statement read on Wednesday.
“The Serbian defender, at Inter since July 2014, has collected 28 appearances for the Nerazzurri and scored one goal last season.”
Vidic has been linked with a move to the United States’ Major League Soccer recently, and may look to wind down his career in North America with his 35th birthday occurring this year.
The defender hasn’t appeared for Inter at all this season, after undergoing surgery on a hip injury.
