jovetic interInter’s Stevan Jovetic has continued to hold off talk of a title challenge and believes he is yet to show his true ability, hoping to find himself on the score-sheet more often during 2016.

The Montenegrin international got off to a bright start to the season in August, scoring three goals in his opening two matches, yet has been unable to maintain his early form after a calf injury, resulting in the forward finding the net only once during his past 11 appearances.

“At Manchester City I didn’t have many chances to play and show what I am capable of,” Jovetic told Qatar SC.

“I am happy for how I’ve played [at Inter], I’ve scored goals and assisted my teammates.

“Though despite this, I expect to score more.”

Inter head into the first round of 2016 as league leaders, though Jovetic feels it’s still too early to discuss whether his side are true title contenders.

“It’s far to early to talk about the Scudetto,” the attacker said.

“Our current goal is to maintain a place in the top three so that we can earn a spot in the Champions League.

“Come March or April we will evaluate our position and see what else we can do.”
