AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believed a poor refereeing decision cost his team a victory in the 2-2 draw with Empoli in Serie A.
Both Carlos Bacca and Giacomo Bonaventura gave the Rossoneri the lead only to be pegged back and held at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
“There was a clear penalty for handball,” Mihajlovic told Premium Sport.
“We can here to win, and we lacked the final finish to close the game,” he added.
“We were not very accurate and sometimes a little sluggish.
“I did, however, make changes to try to win the match.
“Balotelli [Mario] came back and he could be a playmaker.
“He is only just coming back from injury though so we will assess him more.”
Piotr Zielinski and Massimo Maccarone were on hand to stop Milan from bagging all three points, continuing their fine form in the league.
“The draw is not something to get wound up about.”
“Empoli are one of those teams who play good football and are hard to deal with when they’re at home.
“You have to congratulate them for that.
“The result was far.
“Even in the last 15-20 minutes we knew they’d lower the pace but we were unable to capitalise.
“To be honest, we were quite bad in that sense.”
Mihajlovic had a quick word on Luiz Adriano, who returned following a failed transfer move to China.
“We are glad he’s back.”
“He is a great professional.”
