Former Inter president Massimo Moratti has given his blessing to the Nerazzurri’s target Eder, saying he would be the ideal addition to Roberto Mancini’s squad.

The Beneamata seem on the verge of signing the Sampdoria striker after Fredy Guarin joined Chinese outfit Shanghai for around €12 million, the same amount they are now likely to offer to persuade the Blucerchiati.

“Scoring goals has proven the main problem for Inter,” Moratti told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “That’s why I think Eder would be the right player for us.

“He seems a prolific forward who is able to increase our goals tally.”

The Italian tycoon also claimed the 28-year-old, thanks to his prolific ability, would be even better than Lavezzi, who was recently linked to the Beneamata as his contract expires in six month.

“I’ve not been seeing Lavezzi play for a while, but I think Eder would definitely be the right addition,” he said.

With Inter set to face off with Juventus in tonight’s Coppa Italia clash, the ex-owner praised the Bianconeri as the current best Italian team, also mentioning some memories of the Derby d’Italia.

“I expect to see a good match,” Moratti added.

“Juve are the best Italian team. They changed a lot but have since found consistency, as well as having Dybala who is outstanding.

“I remember our 3-2 away win in the Coppa Italia [2008]. I hope it goes the same way.”

Following Inter’s recent poor form, the Bianconeri managed to leapfrog the Nerazzurri in Serie A and are now second, four points off the Milan’s rivals.
