Genoa in Serie A on Sunday afternoon.

The Orobici go into the game after a run of three straight defeats, though the visiting Grifone have lost five games in a row. Reja remains wary of Gian Piero Gasperini’s side despite their recent difficulties.

“In football, small issues can change the tide,” Reja told reporters during his pre-match press conference.

“Genoa are coming from a disappointing moment, but they have players of character and running and Gasperini will always demand intensity. It has gone a little bad lately, but they were not far away from a draw with Sampdoria.”

Reja conceded that his own side’s poor run is a worry, but he is determined to put it right.

It has never happened here,” he added.

“Losing three straight games means our focus is even greater now. The defeat against Napoli left a bit of regret, and we almost had Chievo. In midweek we gave half an hour. Now we must not have any kind of drop off from a mental point of view. I expect a high intensity performance.”
