Atalanta coach Edy Reja praised the performance of his team and Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic after he held the Orobici to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
Handanovic made a number of crucial saves as La Dea dominated the Nerazzurri who were considered lucky to come away from Bergamo with a point.
“Handanovic was extraordinary, how did he make those saves?” said Reja to Mediaset Premium after the match.”Today I was interested in our performance, and we found it.”
“If it wasn’t for Handanovic we could have won it, Inter pressured us in the final 10 minutes but even if they had scored it would have been undeserved.
“Today we did a favour for Napoli, but above all we played. If we play with this intensity every week we will do well this season.”
Despite praising his team, the coach was also keen to maintain that Atalanta’s aim this season was to avoid relegation.
“The aim is to stay up, but of course we are happy because we played well and also because we pleased the fans today,” added Reja.
