strootman romaRoma midfielder Kevin Strootman has set his sights on a February return to training, following a prolonged absence having undergone knee surgery.

A series of injuries have dictated that the Dutch international has only made 31 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi since the beginning of the 2013-14 season.

“I feel much better,” said Strootman, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I hope to come back soon to play with my team-mates.”

“I will play a short match with the Primavera soon, then hopefully, I will be ready to return to first-team training in February.

“I want to win something in this shirt. My goal is to give the fans the title that they deserve.”

Since joining the Stadio Olimpico side in 2013, Strootman has made just 36 appearances in all for the club, scoring six times and assisting a further nine goals for his side.
