Paulo Sousa FiorentinaFiorentina coach Paulo Sousa has insisted that he is keen to create a strong foundation at the club and remain for a sustained period of time.

Having signed a contract until June 2017, the former Basel and Queens Park Rangers boss stated that he is happy with how things are going at the club and that he wants to have a long-standing and significant impact upon the Viola.

“I have a long contract and I am here to create something of importance,” Sousa told the media.

“I am not only thinking about training the players but also of building something substantial. The way to leave something notable is to work hard for it.

“I am happy to see that my hierarchy also have the desire to continue doing good things.”

The 45-year-old tactician also responded to recent rumours linking Giuseppe Rossi with a departure from the club, claiming that he is yet to hold personal talks with the striker, but a solution must be found soon.

“We have not spoken,” Sousa added. “His desire is to play and to improve. Here we have to find the right balance within the squad and the two parties must now try to find a solution.”
