Torino striker Maxi Lopez has reportedly turned down an offer from the Middle East, in favour of staying in Italy.

The forward has been a crucial member of the squad this season, as he has featured in 17 Serie A matches, scoring three goals and providing one assist.

Reports from Sky claim that the Argentine has been requested by Gianfranco Zola’s Al Arabi, but it is understood that the former AC Milan striker has rejected their approach.

The forward has been at a host of clubs in Italy, including Catania, Sampdoria and Chievo – whilst also plying his trade for Spanish giants Barcelona.

The 31-year-old striker has scored 16 goals in 41 matches since his move to Toro in January 2015.
