Pedro ObiangThe agent of former Sampdoria and current West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has claimed that the Spaniard would be an ideal player for Napoli.

The Partenopei have been looking to strengthen their midfield during the transfer window and have been linked with the likes of FC Porto’s Hector Herrera and Bayer Leverkusen’s Christoph Kramer.

“He’s unlikely to leave West Ham in January,” said Obiang’s agent Jose Miguel Gonzalez to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

“The club wants to keep him, he is happy in London and he is comfortable with his team-mates. He would like to play a little more, but that’s normal, there is competition for places, and the team are doing very well in the Premier League.

“But at the moment I have not received any calls from Italy, Pedro played very well for Sampdoria and it’s normal that there is talk of interest from big teams.”

Gonzalez was also asked about interest from Palermo, whilst saying Obiang would be the perfect player for Napoli.

“Interest from Palermo? Look the reality is that West Ham are happy with the guy. He’s a very good player, he is strong. He interests many clubs, but there nothing concrete right now.

“Napoli are very strong, they are doing well in the league and they are looking for a new midfielder.

“Obiang would be perfect for them because of his characteristics. Right now though, I have not received any calls from Naples.”
