Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has underlined the importance of remaining watertight in defence as the Bianconeri welcome Bayern Munich to the Juventus Stadium.

The Old Lady’s 15 match Serie A winning streak was halted on Friday with a goalless draw against Bologna and Allegri is conscious of the threat Pep Guardiola’s side pose on the European front.

“Much of the tie will be decided in the first leg, here in Turin,” he told reporters at his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday night’s clash. “It will therefore be very important to not concede goals.”

“We deserved to reach the last 16, but this fixture is more like a semi-final.”

The German outfit boast a fearsome attack and Allegri says he would be delighted if he could take a 0-0 scoreline to the Allianz Arena in the return leg.

“Last year I got millions of insults when I said 0-0 was a good result, but 0-0 is a great result at home,” he added.

“It’s important we go there with two results which can get us through, because away goals count double.”
