Bayern Munich midfielder optimistic ahead of Juventus clash

Mario Gotze GermanyBayern Munich midfielder, Mario Gotze, has admitted that Juventus will certainly prove to be a tough challenge during their forthcoming Champions League Round of 16 tie, although he is confident that they can overcome the Turin outfit.

The first leg will be played at the Juventus stadium on Tuesday, and the German international has admitted that the Bavarian side are not currently in the best of form, but has called on his ambitious teammates to be prepared for all situations the Bianconeri may offer.

“Juventus will be a difficult nut to crack,” said Gotze to Chinese news agency, Xinhua. “And we will need to act in the decisive moments.

“We are not currently in the best form, especially in defence, although we are determined to reach the next round.

“We are quietly confident and optimistic.”

Lastly, the 23-year-old also revealed that the reigning German champions are eager to make it to the final of the European competition, and that they are also aiming to secure double domestic success in their home country.

“Even in football it is difficult to make predictions,” he added. “We are focused on making it to the finals of both the Champions League and the German cup.

“Furthermore, we want to win the Bundesliga for the fourth time in a row.”
