bolognaBologna drew 0-0 with Juventus at the Stadio Renata Dall’Ara on Friday night.

In the first-half neither side were able build up a head of steam and the two teams went into the interval with the game scoreless.

The second-half continued in the same vain, and despite the Bianconeri getting desperate towards the end of the match, they couldn’t find a winner.

After a rather tepid start to the match it was Juventus who created the first meaningful chance. A corner was swung in by Claudio Marchisio and Patrice Evra somehow managed to get a free header, yet he arrowed his effort wide.

However, Bologna were looking impressive, and they almost took the lead when Mattia Destro cutely turned Marchisio and fired a stinging and swerving shot, which was palmed away by Gianluigi Buffon.

The rebound came out to Godfred Donsah, but he rushed his shot and fired miles wide.

However, apart from this, both sides attacking play lacked coherence and frankly quality. As a result chances came at a premium.

Like the opening 45 minutes, the start to the second-half was lukewarm. Yet, the Bianconeri awoke when Stephan Lichtsteiner fired in a low cross to Paul Pogba, but the mercurial Frenchman on the half-volley drove his shot wide.

Both sides defences were on top form and going into the last 20 minutes of the match, Pogba’s effort was the only chance of the half.

In the 83rd minute Marchisio played a superb ball to Pogba, to put the former Manchester United player within sight of goal. But after a fine first touch, he miserably sliced his shot wide.

Juventus were piling on the pressure and Alvaro Morata was the next player to have an effort denied by Antonio Mirante. However, it wasn’t to be The Old Lady’s 16th win in a row as they failed to find the winner.

The result leaves Bologna in ninth place, whereas Juventus stay top of Serie A, temporarily two points above Napoli.
