Paulo SousaRussian side Zenit Saint Petersburg are considering a move for Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa, in preparation for when current man at the helm Andre Villas-Boas parts ways at the end of the season.

Despite having lead Zenit to a Russian Premier League title and a Russian Super Cup, Villas-Boas is expected to exit the club after turning down a contract extension, leaving the club hierarchy desperate to appoint an immediate replacement.

After a rigorous search, it now appears that they have found their man. According to alfredopedulla.com, Sousa has been brought to the Russian outfit’s attention after leading Fiorentina up to the top of the table.

The report suggests that the Portuguese tactician is viewed as the ideal man to take the club’s project forward and may be approached over the vacant role come the end of the season.

It could be a position that the coach is willing to consider too, after a rumoured breakdown with the Viola’s owners Andrea and Diego Della Valle left relations on a sour note.
