AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has emphasised the club’s need to earn maximum points against lower ranked teams ahead of Sunday’s clash with Genoa.

Following confidence building wins over Inter and Fiorentina, a disappointing draw at home to Udinese slowed their progress and the 71-year-old identified the Grifone as a danger team.

“It’s a difficult game, the type of game in which Milan has been at risk,” he told reporters outside the Lega Calcio headquarters.

“We are fighting for European places but have lost so many points on the road, we must remain focused.

“We haven’t lost too many points from those in front of us. With Inter, for example, we’re ahead.

“Our best results have come in direct matches (with higher ranked teams), the points we have lost to them have come against the teams following us.”

The director also confirmed interest in the club’s squad from outside of Europe, following the reported Chinese interest in Luiz Adriano.

“We have a lot of offers from China, for other players as well,” he continued.

“At the moment it’s the richest league in the world.”
