Inter defender Yuto Nagatomo spoke today about the possibility of renewing his contract with the Nerazzurri despite interest from Manchester United.
The 29-year-old Japanese full-back’s deal is due to expire in June, but the former FC Tokyo star seems confident that his agent and the Inter hierarchy can agree terms on a new contract.
“I love this club and I want to remain here,” Nagatomo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“This is the reason I rejected Manchester United’s proposal.”
Nonetheless, the road to a new deal might not be as easy as it seems; Nagatomo has failed to command a regular starting role at the San Siro under coach Roberto Mancini despite starting the Biscione’s last two matches, against Chievo and Hellas Verona, bringing his season total to 14 appearances.
