Italy-MarchisioAs the European Championship approaches, the Italian national team remains stagnant in the latest FIFA rankings, as they remain underdogs for the upcoming tournament in France.

The Azzurri have continued to struggle for consistency under Antonio Conte, as they lost 3-1 to Belgium and drew 2-2 with Romania in their most recent two friendlies.

In the latest FIFA rankings, Belgium, Argentina, and Spain have all maintained their top three spots, while the Azzurri remain stuck in 15th, just four points ahead of Romania.

Italy find themselves behind several of their other European opponents, with Germany, Portugal, England and Austria all making the top ten.

After winning their qualifying group with an undefeated record, the Azzurri enter into the Euro 2016 unseeded, and find themselves competing in a difficult group along with top-ranked Belgium, the Republic of Ireland, and Sweden.

Ireland and Sweden were ranked as 30th and 35th respectively in the most recent rankings.

The Azzurri have just three more friendlies prior to the start of the Euros, as they test themselves against Spain, Germany, and Finland.
