Allegri JuventusJuventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has played down the significance of their new club record following a 1-0 win over Genoa.

Juan Cuadrado had his shot turned in by Genoa defender Sebastian De Maio, but finished with ten men after Simone Zaza saw red.

“Genoa are always a difficult team to face, they make matters complicated and have quality players,” Allegri told Premium Sport.

“Our victory over Chievo last weekend has created a feeling of euphoria, but tonight’s match has brought us back down to earth.”

Juventus have broken a new club record this evening, achieving 13 consecutive Serie A wins and thus keeping pace with Napoli.

“I don’t care much for the new record, we still have to ensure we remain focused and think about the next game,” he admitted.

“Only two strikers are available currently, we will need to recover but we wanted this success and earned it,” he concluded.

Juventus remain two points behind Napoli at the summit of the Serie A table, with the two sides set to meet in ten days.
